About Us

Knightsbridge began as a small housing company in the fall of 1990. Initially the company focused on infill housing in Calgary’s inner city communities of Sunnyside, Hillhurst and Parkhill, as well as larger country residential homes on acreages in the areas surrounding the City. In 1995, Knightsbridge became a single family showhome builder in the then new golf course community of Heritage Pointe. This led to company’s first multi-family project, The Ravine Villas of Heritage Pointe. From here, in 1997 Knightsbridge became involved in the upscale west end community of Elbow Valley as a showhome builder in both multi-family (Hidden Hollow Villas) and single family homes (Diamond Willow Point).

In 2000, the company expanded to another west end upper end community – Aspen Estates with single family showhomes and its multi-family Brownstone project. The year 2002 saw a further expansion as Knightsbridge opened a country residential showhome in the Springbank acreage subdivision of Sterling Springs. Then in 2004, the company returned to Ellbow Valley as a single family showhome builder with the spectacular 8,500sf Sidney Showhome (see VR Tours) complete with 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and 3-floor elevator. The following year, also in Elbow Valley, Knightsbridge opened its Riverside Villa Showhome – a luxury 2100sf semi-detached walk-out bungalow presenting a 22-unit villa project overlooking the river valley.

As well, in 2005, Knightsbridge embarked on its 3-building, 120 unit apartment condominium project, Villa D’Este, in Calgary’s northwest community of Tuscany. This project is currently nearing completion with Phase 3 landscaping to be completed in ’09. From 2006 to 2008, the company opened country acreage estate showhomes in the Springbank communities of Grandview Park and Sterling Springs. Currently, the firm will be breaking ground in the Spring of ’09 on its new acreage showhome in Swift Creek Estates (Springbank) with a scheduled opening for early 2010.

Knightsbridge is now involved in its most exciting project to date… University City. This project is will change the face of Calgary! The company, in a joint-venture with the very successful Metropia Developments of Toronto, will be developing the first Transportation Oriented Development site (TOD) in the City. This will be located at Brentwood Mall in northwest Calgary across 32 Avenue NW from the University of Calgary. On approximately 3.5 acres of land, adjacent to the Brentwood LRT Station, the JV Company may be creating 500 to 600 condo units, as well as retail at the ground level. The project could potentially involve housing for all, including seniors, live/work, some affordable housing units, and a suites hotel.

Knightsbridge has become known as a niche design/build firm with the ability to create unique architectural solutions for all their projects. The company looks forward to the future, continuing its creative solutions in both the single family and multi-family world.
